Chapter 1

I looked forward. There, that was the game that everyone had been talking about for the past week. The girl's Varsity championship game. Our team vs. the best in the state, Franklin. People talked about how we would crush them, but I knew from the beginning that they were much better than us, and thus they would win. It was wired, because the girl's Varsity Games always get a lot more attention than the guy's, or at least in soccer. It was probably because they always did better. Well the game was currently at 21-4. We were loosing, as I predicted.

But then I spotted Angelia. At the time, I had liked her for a while. She played on the Varsity team, however she was probably one of the worst members on the team. But I didn't care. She was cute, sweet, and kind. She was also so funny. She had a great sense of humor.

“Hey, John!” I looked behind me, and there he was standing. Marcus, basically, the school bully. “What ya doin' around these parts? It's after school.”

“I'm here purely out of the sake of watching the game. But it looks like I was right after all, there is no way we can win,” I said. At this time, I knew what was going threw his head, so I headed back inside the school building, in an attempt to make him loose interest.

“Where are ya goin'?”
“Inside”
“Why?”
“To collect the rest of my things”
“No, really, why?” (by this time we were both inside)
“You know why.”
“No, I don't”

“Don't pull that crap with me!” I turned and stared at him. There was silence. “Every day, every freaking day, you come down here, and you find another way to humiliate my, either physically, or mentally. I'm sick of it!”
“It doesn't matter. Welcome to society. Things happen that you may not like.”

“But there is no reason for you to treat me the way you do!” But it was no use. Nothing would stop him. He was able to lift at least 4 times as much as I could, so I could never fight back in any way whatsoever. He quickly spun me around, and lifted me up by a wedgie. It stung bad, but he let me go after 20 seconds.

“Look, I've gatta go, why don't you just piece yourself together?”
“You suck!” I was always surprised with how he took my retaliation towards him. I left the building, and went to my car. Once there, I called my mom to tell her I was heading home.

“Did they win the game?”

“I didn't see the end, but it is a lost hope”
“John, how can you possibly expect to get forward in life with that kind of attitude?”
“I'll see ya soon for dinner”

She sighed. “Alright, see ya.” I hung up. But then, I saw Angelia putting her soccer stuff into her car. She was along. 'This is my chance' I thought. 'I can finally ask her out!' I had never asked a girl out before, so I was resentful. But I eventually gave in, and decided it was for the better. So I walked over, praying that nothing would go wrong.
